Merging Boundaries
Herd meditation blog posts are about communing with the herd energetically. I was drawn, as so many horse guardians have been in recent times, to spend time just being with the horses. This was partly as a result of developing what I have called the energetic connection, which is simply the language of nature, available to all.
In our sessions we have discovered so many ideas and processes related to our relationship. Conditioned pathways connected to the traditional treatment of horses. Ways of healing and perspectives I could never have explored on my own.
Although we have begun our training again, as a result of the journey we made during herd meditation, it will always be the heart of our relationship.
Choice is such a fundamental part of the horse human connection. We are in the process of expanding ourselves so that we can offer choice to the horses in our lives. And in this there is the vastness of letting go of limitations, assumptions and agendas, including awakening to whether the horses remember what it is to choose. The choice I have been acknowledging recently however, is my own. Have you considered the value of your ability to choose?
It seems that one of the essential elements in life is embracing the process without judgment or attachment. The first step in this is to understand that there is a process, that it is intelligent, and that supporting the transformation is the most powerful tool we have. Because as humans we have become smart, we think a lot and we decide that we know what is right, the processes all around us are often not allowed to unwind.
I asked myself, why am I so passionate about the quality of my relationship with horses? Why has it become the deepest, most precious heart of everything? The only way to answer that is to describe what it is. How we connect, the energy between us, our partnership, this is our oxygen. It is all that exists. The relationship is the place in-between us that becomes us. Without the relationship, there are no horses, because without the relationship I can’t see or feel them, and they can’t see me.
Anything and everything we do filters through our relationship… is formed by it. Without the dialogue, there is no meaningful doing. Trust, vulnerability and unconditional love, this is partnership.
How would it feel to realise that there is only one purpose here. How much would we resist that notion, let alone the purpose itself? Yet it could liberate everything. It could undo all of the problems we believe we have and unlock the cages we have made.
It came to me that life here in the body is simply an experience, it is a million experiences, of all different kinds. The experiences are expressed through the Universal Breath: Feeling in and Doing out. This is the heart of our horse human relationship.
